Goldie saved and found a forever home as "Daisy!"
A wonderful volunteer for the Westside Albuquerque animal shelter, Crystal, let me know that one of the dogs at the shelter, a two-year-old pitt bull mix named Goldie, who had some diminished vision due to cloudy lenses, was due to be euthanized because no one was interested in adopting her during the month after she was admitted and she had started to become withdrawn. I was able to get an extension for Goldie and Tootsie's Vision pulled her from the shelter. We placed Goldie with an experienced foster mom, Marta Weber, and started looking for a forever home. In short order, a couple expressed interest in Goldie, visited her and then took her home for an afternoon to interact with their two chihuahuas. Everything went fine and they fell in love with this sweet, smart and mellow girl. Tomorrow, Goldie (who will be renamed Daisy) will go to her forever home and have a lifetime of love with which to look forward. All this was possible with the great teamwork by local animal lovers and the support so many folks have provided Tootsie's Vision. Good luck Daisy!!! Live long and Prosper!
